Toll The Mountain Road For Visitors

In many countries I have visited roads of high tourist value are subject to a toll. This si not an unusual way of rising funds. The Mountain Road is such a road - it has high tourit and scenic values.

A system can easily be incorporated to allow locally registered vehicles other than hire cars to use the road free of tolls.

Why the contribution is important

If you have something of value put a price on it!

Tourists already get hammered during TT and this would leave a bad impression for a modest amount raised.

I agree with above. You'd be better charging the public service costs for attending accidents on the Mountain Road to the perpetrators rather than being carried by the taxpayer. That would alter riding & driving behaviour too.

Do NOT agree with you dpfellows, visitors get completely shafted already here at TT and The Festival of Motorcycing. If you want tourism to stop then proceed with your ideas.

bad idea. this would just give bad reputation to the island,
the money coming in would just go towards maintaining all the work with the toll itself.

it already is a very expensive place to visit (you can go to somewhere sunny for much cheaper), so we should care about the tourists we get
