Stop subsidy to Manx Radio(Initially given to help get started)

Manx Radio has more adverts than the other independant stations and has too many staff,  viewing figures are only about 60% of the population. In addition to this I believe they have bought the Railway Inn, just to do one show from, this is hearsay and I am unsure of the facts.but worth doing a check.

2/. Many government staff, senior staff included, have retired on inflated pensions which they did not contribute to, perhaps they wouldn't mind taking a cut in these pensions. We have 2 presidents, and several MLCs and MHKs sitting on big pensions, worth counting up these spares.

Why the contribution is important

I have chosen two of the biggest outlays for the treasury to tackle.

Why not keep this website open for future suggestions.

    1) 60% of population listening to MR sounds like quite a high proprtion. Some of the programs are invaluable, like Mandate, however public funding should only be going towards those, not to music programmes (I say that not knowong what the position actually is) - and IF the music programmes ere subsidised, there is no reason why they have to be on for so many hours a day with drivel just like the other stations...

    2) Whilst non-contributory pension schemes might be seen by some as a perk, it was part of the package of Ts & Cs of their employment under which they were engaged, or in some cases enticed from elsewhere, so I would be most surprised if they wouldn't mind taking a cut.

Having journos on civil service pay scales is ludicrous

However saving MR as a national institution is important for the Manx nation

Please scrap links with BBC & begin online video broadcasting of Thnwald & other things important to the community
