Stop Off Island Spending By Government

It does appear that once in office our 'elected representatives' can think of no better way of spending their time than authorising the off-island spend of the people's money

Please put statute in place so that they must be authorised to do so by the independent 'Office For Budget Responsibility'

Why the contribution is important

MHKs are not elected and/or authorised by the people to give our money away to non-resident bodies

Seems so sensible an idea, are you sure it's not been implemented yet?

The Government should not be purchasing goods from the Island.
The Government should purchase goods from local suppliers, but if the manx price was more than 10% then the order can be awarded to the UK company.
Before doing the later the manx company could be asked if they could match the tender under consideration.

The Sports Consultancy and the TT fiasco are a prime example of government wasting money on off Island "experts". Then there was the use a one man and his dog consultancy in Shropshire to tell us how to organise pensions. MHKs are elected to make decisions, so it would be nice if they could do so.

A 10% higher price for goods and service would soon be absorbed by ITIP, NI, VAT and further spending in the local economy.
