Stop Gov vehicles being taken home

Currently government vehicles are used by many to get to/from work (DOI, MUA (water & electric). The cost to the public in fuel use must be huge as most of the vehicles are vans or bigger.

Why the contribution is important

Leave these vehicles on site and let people use their own vehicles. Most of the mileage is non emergency/fault out of hours

I agree, plus these big vans look ugly parked on the roads nearby the employees homes.

I have to drive to and from work everyday and pay for my own fuel, why should they not have to pay for their personal journeys too?!

I agree totally with this , as some of these vehicles are there all weekend and longer .

Unless the recipients of these vehicles are on emergency call at the weekends or overnight.

If work vehicles are taken home (whether they be government or private firms) the user should be liable to have the use classified as a taxable benefit. The presumption is that they will use the vehicle as a means to travel from home to place of work. Most people have to meet this cost of travel from their income.

I cannot believe this idea has got the highest number of votes, compared to other ideas.
    How much would this save?
Better to get rid of MLCs, and it would save alot more money!

This depends on wether they go straight to their next job or back to the depot every morning, it maybe more efficient in ime and fuel to go straight to place of work. But if they do use as a means to ge to and from work place base agree.
