Reduce the Numeber of Bus Services.

We have empty buses driving around the Island, some places as often as every 20 minutes.

Nowhere on the Isle of Man needs that level of service.

Why the contribution is important

Reduce the level of service to every hour during peak times (then every 3 hours during evenings and weekends) for the popular routes and then reduce the rural routes to twice a day.

It will save on buses and drivers. If people need to use a bus then they can wait for the next one.

I disagree -what is needed is to get more pople onto buses instead of private cars, at least for commuting, and insufficiently frequent buses simply put people off., likewise where they don't go exactly where pople want to go.

Perhaps there should be much higher car parking charges at in towns buring the week, other than short term close to shops. While at it, ban stopping of cars within 1/4 mile of schools to drop children off - let them go by bus or walk.

Either get more people on buses or reduce them drastically. Much money is wasted plus the effect of all those wasted exhausts on the atmosphere.
