Put public service payslips online

Currently over 100,000 payslips are produced annually by Government. We need to encourage as many citizens as possible to regularly use the online services that are currently available. By going online with payslips we will encourage more to use the online services available and cut out the waste of time and resources producing paper ones.

Why the contribution is important

This idea on its own will not save a huge amount in any one year but throughout Government there are probably other similiar measures which together might make a significant difference.

Makes sense asmost businesses do this already. I'm actually amazed IOMG still senda out pay slips in the post. Most private sector employers stopped doing this 5 years ago.

I don't see this as a way of saving much money. I don't think it is a bad idea... but government want to know what services to cut and who to fire and this is not really related.

    @ hamertime, no they don't.

They are looking for ways to save money, they are not looking for a list of people to fire or services to cut; like us all, they just want IOMG to be more efficient. If the ultimate outcome from the suggestion (after it is investigated) is a redundancy or a service no longer provided then so be it, but you can't start out thinking that this is the answer to everything. :-)

If by putting the payslips on line the IOMG can save 1/2 a person in terms of efficiency and someone else makes a connected suggestion that will save another 1/2 a post then there you go, one redundancy and money saved...so yes, it is related.
