IOM Cruise Liner Quay or Liverpool Landing Stage?

The idea of spending £20 million on just one of the 5 off-island docking facilities used by the ferries servicing the Island seems quite strange (to be polite) - particularly as it is not the key facility and cannot handle essential freight traffic - unlike Heysham.

What consideration has been given to using taxpayer money that the Government is pushing to spend in England to provide instead good, local revenue generating, facilities here on the Island to attract cruise liners?

This seems even stranger when one considers not only is the money being spent to facilitate a commercial cruise terminal in Liverpool but also that the port owners originally said they would pay for the landing stage move in Liverpool.

Why the contribution is important

Better use of scarce taxpayer monies to generate income on the Island
