    Don't get in house electricians this is mad. Holiday pay, supervision, pension, sick pay etc, etc make it easier for smaller /self employed electricians/tradesmen to apply for government work.
    £45 is expensive but not extortionate. This includes ITIP, ni, employers NI , pension contributions, public liability insurance, membership of schemes that government expects you to have to gain government work holiday pay etc , possibly VAT if applicable. Many of these costs actually come back to government in the long term so the true cost is nowhere near £45.
