Health - magnesium

In the Programme for Government, one target is that 'we live longer, healthier lives.

Increasing magnesium intake could have positive impacts on health problems which may be caused by a magnesium deficiency, as the body doesn't produce this essential mineral by itself. e.g. asthma, depression, osteoporosis, epilepsy.

Could medical conditions which are trested with expensive drugs be treated with magnesium instead? How prevalent is magnesium deficienc? Does magnesium deficiency created an increased risk of developing cancer?

There are issues with high magnesium levels already in the IOM water supply that effects dialysis and other medical procedures. Magnesium already occurs in high levels in the IOM water supply, I understand.
