Give Voters a Veto

On tax returns, there should be an option where people can veto a Government scheme. So, for example, people could veto the funding of Manx Radio or the new Liverpool Landing Stage,

Then for every veto vote, the project loses a proportion of its budget.

Why the contribution is important

It will save Government money in the longer term and also mean that projects will be better thought out and won't be as wasteful in their approach for fear of losing funding.

It's a radical idea, but that's what we need!

Sadly there are too many negative people on our island, some of whom would prevent us having a national broadcaster, heritage transport service, etc

Is the comment above acknowledging that most people don't want to pay tax for a national broadcaster and heritage transport services?

Wouldn't be so bad if the National broadcaster wasn't so dire. I switched on Manx radio the other day by mistake and thought I had stepped back in time to 1970 when I first came here as it was the same people warbling on'disgruntled from Peel' had probably been on there since I last switched it on.The format hasn't changed, and the presenters aren't engaging with what people want to talk about.Oh,and a great deal too MUCH talking as well. Not very uplifting frankly and not worth the money with all the media news and bewildering choice of music downloads which folk prefer.Winning a mug for guessing games is sooooooo boring and I bet all the people entering are meant to be working too!
