Explain how to vote here!

All I can see is an opportunity to give a star rating, and lowest is 1 not 0, so anything without people giving star ratings is lower than those with people awarding the lowest they can, even where there ares several comments. This is not proper voting, but if this is what is intended then anyone leaving a comment should be required to give a rating at the same time.

Why the contribution is important

Because we were promised a vote, and as it stands the star ratings are misleading.

sadly today I have seen a lot of silly comments on this site and duplications of other ideas. without wasting more time and costs this could do with some mediation. Otherwise those people who feel this is a useful tool and a way to have thoughts aired will lose faith and patience.

yes I agree the voting method does not seem to work

    Thank you for your contribution.
All the ideas can be given a rating – those with ratings will naturally rise more quickly to the top of the list when sorted by the number of stars they’ve received. This means more people will see them and discuss them.
In terms of the final selection of the ideas, all the ideas submitted will be given consideration and will be assessed against criteria like level of cost saving, ease of implementation and feasibility.
The site is moderated in accordance with our policy that can be found at the bottom of this page.
While we invite open participation and diverse viewpoints to be shared, the main goal of this challenge is to gather ideas on achieving budget savings and efficiencies.
Accordingly, moderators reserve the right to remove posts which do not address some aspect of that purpose. We value our users time and input, and our desire is to remove as few posts as possible while ensuring that a focused, constructive discussion takes place.
    Thanks

Noted, but it is not obvious to 'voters', and quite a few things have received comments, both for and against, without people asigning stars.

It took a while to work out how the star system works

(If several people are supporting this, clearly it isn't as obvious as the moderator seems to think!)

I think it should be made a bit clearer that you need to rate the comment with stars as I didn't get that initially and don't consider myself a dunce but it really doesn't give you a hint as to what to do.

We're able to see how many ratings an idea has received, as well as the average number of stars it's had. This means for example one person giving an idea a rating of 5 stars won't automatically be considered more popular than one given an average of 4 stars by 20 people. Rating will inform the discussion of ideas to be taken forward, but is not the only factor. Hope this helps,
