Close down the Snaefell Railways

It doesn't actually go anywhere and doesn't serve a useful purpose as public transport.

Close it down and replace it with a footpath.

Why the contribution is important

Footpaths are much cheaper to maintain and are more popular with families.

It will save the government several million which can then be reinvested into other services like Health and Education.

I've taken visitors on it on several occasions, and every time it has been packed with visitors, with people having to wait for the next one. I've no idea if it is profitable, but it is clearly a very popular visitor attraction -unlike the MER from Douglas to Ramsetvthat might be better closed abd converted into a cycleway (but a proper one, tarmaced)

@commonsense that's a bit rich coming from you. You seem to have CS mentality as your only suggestions so far have been ways to charge the public more with further stealth taxes.

The idea here is to actually save money, not charge people more money.

It's time to slash things that we don't need. If you think that people actually come here to ride a bumpy old cattle wagon up a mountain, you are mistaken.

Heritage Transport is something the island should be proud of. There are few places in the world with so much in a small area.
