charge for hospital parking

Everyone, even the poorest in our society could afford £1 or £2 pound to use the hospital car park.

There must be at least 1000 cars per day using this car park, 0ne or two pounds is not unreasonable.

With the coming and going of vehicles, this would generate a income of roughly £15,000 per week.

£50,000 a month. A nice little earner, that doesn't hit pockets too hard.

Why the contribution is important

It's important because it generates income for the Government, without hitting  pockets too hard.

I agree but maybe make it free for first hour for appointments. I am sure it would free up car park as always full of people who park there all day and either get picked up or get bus into Douglas

Being ill is costly enough. If you are visiting some one for 6 months every day it adds up. Pointless charging unless you enforce the charges and there is a cost to that. Parking machines are a pain and expensive. When you are really ill worrying about car parking change is the last thing you need. People do not choose to visit Nobles. They choose to shop !

No, no, no. But introduce a permit system, as in the Westmoreland Road clinics, which allow free parking with a valid hospital visit permit.
