Traffic free Sundays

In Douglas, say on Loch Promenade, North Quay or Victoria Street introduce vehicle free Sundays on certain dates through the Year to give the streets back to the people to enjoy. Trial it for limited hours on limited dates.

Great for shoppers and people going to cafes, restaurants and pubs

Make the Isle of Man different and special

Pleasant environment will attract people

Allow market stalls and charity events to take place

    love this idea. Done in major cities around the world and the sky doesn’t fall in. Bit like that time we had roadworks on 2 ‘arterial’ routes in Douglas and media predicted gridlock. Instead people found alternative ways to travel and the roads were great. Even comments on social media said how much nicer it was. Induced demand eh?
