Abolish retaking the CBT.

The retaking serves no prober purpose. It's just a cash cow. Why should someone have to retake a "Basic" bike test after they have been riding for 2 years? Some people have no interest in passing full bike test and are happy riding small cc bikes. It's a great Idea for people with no riding experience at all but there is simply no point in repeating it. The Government keep putting the Vehicle Tax up on high engine capacity vehicles to encourage people to be environmentally friendly. Whilst hitting the 125cc riders with a £150_£200 stealth tax.

Why the contribution is important

To encourage more people to ride smaller cc bikes. Young people for whom this is there only transport riding to work in all weather s would have more money to buy proper riding gear.

Not sure this would make the roads safer but I do agree. Although I think the idea behind it is to stop motorcyclists from driving on a provisional for years and years. It was brought in when there was a trend of scooters but that fad has passed now so I would like to see the CBT abolished full stop.

Might have to add a caveat of, if you can prove you've been running a bike for the 2 years (tax and insurance docs) then you don't need to repeat. Otherwise people may end up taking CBT then being off the road for years before picking a bike up again, in which case I can see a need to check they're still able to operate it safely.
