More Blood clinics needed in the South of the Island

The blood clinic at Nobles in quick and effecient. However an hour long round trip for 5 mins is hardly worth it. There is a blood clinic at the Southern practice but this over subscribed.

An increase in testing services at the Southern clinic would be much appreciated and used. Travel is costly and expensive. It is also difficult if you are not well or do not have access to a vehicle.

Why the contribution is important

Blood tests are essential to ensuring that people get the correct treatment. They are a core diagnostic tool. Meeting the demand at a local level will ensure that more people will comply and get diagnosed and treated sooner. Hence reducing costs in the long run.

Yes more blood clinics definitely needed in the south of the island. Using public transport which goes a very long way round - ie via Onchan to get to Nobles this results in a 5 minute blood appointment taking well over 2 hours round trip from Port Erin, by patients who may well be unwell and elderly.

Appointment system for the Blood clinic at Nobles works well - and the staff are great.
